Are You Ready To Quit?

Don't cry to quit! You already in pain, you already hurt! Get a reward from it!

-Eric Thomas

Today’s blog post isn’t just about losing weight. Too many times all we focus on his food, calories and exercise during the weight loss process. There is so much more to it. The program I have developed is called “The Maintenance Mindset.” You have to work on losing the invisible weight while losing the physical weight. You have to work on getting your eating habits and your life under control. I have learned this from my own experience and studying other successful weight loss maintainers. Every time I hit a weight loss plateau, I was focusing too much on food and exercise. When I started focusing on accomplishing non-scale goals in my life, the weight started to come off. Non-scale goals I had were to give a piano recital, walk a 5K race, give a speech, meet new people, go to events. These were big for me. I had given up on me for several years of my life. I gave up to the point I married someone who was emotionally abusive. I lived in conditions that no one would want to live in because I thought that was what I deserved. Through all of that I decided to fight back. I did get out of the relationship and was able to get into much better living conditions. Even losing the 70 pounds I have lost has been a fight. It would have been so much easier to say, I’m not going to control my eating habits. It would be so much easier to say, I don’t have enough money to eat healthier. It would be easy to say I don’t have enough time to exercise. This is too hard. But what if you are already in the fight? What if you have lost some of the weight and you’re getting tired of fighting. You’re getting tired of measuring and logging your food. You are tired of planning workouts. You’re tired of trying to control your emotional eating. You will have to fight for it. How bad do you want to get the weight off and keep it off? Do you think you are worth the struggle to get your health and life under control? YOU have to believe it, even when your friends and family don’t think you will. YOU have to love yourself enough to say I am not giving up this time. YOU are not going to give up on YOU. Stop quitting before you start. If you have already started, DON’T QUIT. You already know what it feels like to quit. Keep going to know what it feels like to succeed.
